You're not behind on AI. You've just been shown the wrong version of it. This is the other version: open ChatGPT or Claude (free is fine โ "AI assistant" just means a chat window you type into), pick ONE prompt below, replace the [bracketed] parts with your real life, hit enter. That's the whole skill.
1. The Sunday Meal Plan ~90 min/wk
You are a practical family meal planner. Plan 7 dinners for [number] people. Constraints: [picky eater notes / allergies / diets]. Budget: about [$X] for the week. I have roughly [20] minutes to cook on weeknights. Use normal grocery-store ingredients. Give me: the 7 dinners with 2-line instructions each, then ONE combined grocery list sorted by store aisle. Ask me 3 questions first to make this better.
Run it Sunday morning with your coffee. Answer its three questions honestly โ that's where the magic is.
Pro tip: next week just type "same again, but swap 3 dinners for new ones."
2. The Email Un-Drafter ~60 min/wk
Draft a reply to the email below. Tone: [friendly but brief / professional / warm]. My goal: [say no politely / confirm and ask one question / buy myself a week]. Keep it under 120 words and sound like a real person, not a robot. Here's the email: [paste email]
Pro tip: add "give me two versions: one warmer, one shorter" and pick.
3. The Family Calendar Detangler ~45 min/wk
Here is everything happening in my family this week, in no order: [dump everything โ practices, appointments, birthdays, work stuff, school things]. Organize this into a clean day-by-day schedule. Flag any conflicts or tight turnarounds. Then list what I need to prepare in advance (gifts, forms, snacks, rides) as a checklist with the day it's needed by.
Pro tip: photo of the school newsletter? Upload it and add "include whatever's relevant from this."
4. The 10-Minute Budget Check-In ~40 min/wk
Act as a calm, non-judgmental budgeting friend. My take-home income is [$X/month]. My fixed bills are: [list]. Here's roughly what I spent this week: [rough list]. Tell me: 1) am I on pace for the month, 2) the one category to watch, 3) one painless adjustment. No lectures, no spreadsheets unless I ask.
Friday, ten minutes, phone in hand. Rough numbers are fine โ direction beats precision.
5. The Trip Planner ~2 hrs/trip

7. The 15-Minute Learner
I want to learn [topic] with 15 minutes a day. I'm a complete beginner. Build me a 2-week plan: each day gets one 15-minute task with exactly what to do (not "research X" โ tell me the actual steps). Explain any term a normal person wouldn't know in 5 words. Start with day 1 right now.
Pro tip: each day, just type "day 3 please." It keeps your place.
8. The To-Do Triage ~45 min/wk
Here's everything on my plate, unsorted: [brain dump]. Sort it into: Do this week (max 5), Delegate or ask for help (say who/how), Schedule for later (suggest when), and Drop guilt-free (explain why it's droppable). Be a little ruthless โ I keep everything and it's not working.

9. The Side-Income Sanity Check

Play honest friend, not cheerleader: 1) what does realistic month one look like, 2) the three most likely ways this fails, 3) the smallest 1-week test to find out if it's real, 4) a verdict โ try the test, or skip it and why. Pro tip: use voice mode while making tea. Tiny weekly therapist-slash-assistant.
